Speeding
Most speeding tickets range from 3 to 5 demerit points, and fines that can get into the $500 range depending on the speed travelled. If the officer at the side of the road reduced your ticket, not all is lost and there are still options available to us. I’ve successfully dealt with many of these cases and look forward to doing the same for you.

Stunt Driving
Well, this charge isn’t good news for you. However, when properly handled we have had tremendous success in seeing the situation greatly minimized. This charge carries serious penalties and needs to be dealt with accordingly. The fines can range from $2000-$10,000, and a conviction can mean a further licence suspension of up to 2 years, and possible jail time in certain situations. If you’ve been charged with “racing” or “stunting”, it doesn’t literally mean you actively engaged in either or both, but most often that you were simply “clocked” at more than 50km/h above the posted limit.

CVOR Offences
A commercial drivers livelihood completely depends on a constantly clean abstract, as many employers demand such as a condition of employment. Whether you drive short or long haul, are an Owner Operator or an employee of a large company; the protection of you licence is paramount. CVOR and demerit points usually come in pairs, and when it comes to commercial trucking, insurance companies demand that they remain at a minimum. I have spent countless hours throughout my professional career, both through enforcement (as an officer) and now with ticket defence, working alongside trucking firms to maintain a healthy CVOR rating, and thus keeping insurance premiums affordable.
I have a team of experts whom I work with to offer many services, including complete mock audits to staff training, which assists in ensuring compliance. My rates are very reasonable and I’ve have had tremendous success in working with companies with both small and large fleets. Call me directly so we can set up a free appointment in which I can assess your needs, and explain what services I can offer to keep your company rolling.
Paradigm Ticket Defence spends the necessary time on your case with the purpose of eliminating the charges completely via withdrawn or dismissed. If this is not possible, we will negotiate with the prosecutors to keep demerit/CVOR points kept to an absolute minimum. Paradigm Ticket Defence will work diligently to negotiate for the best deal possible, which will help keep your insurance rates reasonable.

Seatbelt Offences
Driving while having your seatbelt, removed or worn improperly, is a 2-point offence. This ticket is solely based on the observation of the issuing officer, and does not include a scientific component like a radar gun. These observational tickets require greatly detailed notes and recollection of the officer in order to garner a conviction. Translated, this means it’s a ticket, which I’ve seen successfully dismissed after trial on many occasions.

Careless Driving
Careless Driving is a charge which is usually only laid after an accident, serious or minor, has occurred. On its own, this charge can carry fines from $400 to $2000, 6 demerit points, a licence suspension and even jail time in some instances. This is a very serious charge, and my input has lead to many successful outcomes, which has assisted in keeping my clients driving privileges intact. Insurance rates often become unaffordable if this charge isn’t dealt with properly, so give me a call as soon as you’ve been charged so the matter unfolds favorably.

Driving While Under Suspension
This is one of the most serious charged laid under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. If you’ve been stopped and issued a summons for Driving under suspension, you could face a further license suspension of 6 months, a jail sentence of up to 6 months, and penalties and fines, which can total in excess of $25,000 under certain circumstances. Needless to say, you require the assistance of a professional to ensure that your matter is handled properly and that the penalties are reduced or eliminated whenever possible.

G1 and G2 License Infractions
Any sort of conviction for G1 and G2 novice drivers can have a tremendous impact. Novice drivers are subject to a much stricter demerit point system, and any conviction, which involves 4 or more demerit points, will result in a 30-day license suspension. Novice drivers are exceptionally difficult to insure at an affordable rate, but a novice driver with a conviction is nearly impossible to insure. These are serious matters, which must be dealt with properly.

Amber/Red Light Offences
The difference under the law between a ticket for Red Light-Fail to Stop and Amber Light-Fail to Stop is almost indistinguishable. A Red Light ticket does indeed carry a higher fine, but both of these infractions carry 3 demerit points. There are effective ways of dealing with these tickets, and over the years, we’ve been very successful in dealing with these at the court level. These are offences which insurance companies don’t take lightly, and will often result in a higher premium for the convicted driver.

Hand-Held Offences
Well, this is a charge which I’m seeing more of with each passing day. The charge is straightforward, the penalties are 3 demerit points and the set fine is $490. You can only imagine how your insurance company will handle a “distracted driving” conviction. Your rates will likely go up and cost you a fortune until this conviction falls off your abstract, which will take 3 years. Our mission is simple; ensure that this charge does not appear on your abstract.

Stop Sign Offences
Most stop sign tickets are the result of a “blitz” in an area where neighbors have complained to their local police department about drivers not stopping properly at stop signs. The result to a charged driver is a ticket with a set fine of $85 and 3 demerit points being accumulated. This is not a favorable conviction on an abstract of someone who is looking to obtain affordable insurance. Not all is lost though, my many years of experience in both laying this charge and successfully defending it can be put to good use in your defence.
